Many communities have domestic violence services that have a contact within the police department, so I would suggest contacting them and seeing if there is a way you can get a better response. I also hope you are getting the support you need and are safe.Smita Varia, DV Prevention Specialisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04615932647398553865noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-531918477342434454.post-23795091275603832112010-02-12T13:27:49.726-05:002010-02-12T13:27:49.726-05:00Dear Anonymous,

Your situation does indeed seem frustrating, and I can only hope that you will find the support you need. When people like yourself speak out against domestic violence, it contributes to the larger dialogue that we need to have about this serious issue.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-531918477342434454.post-22975479679039261192010-02-02T00:46:21.002-05:002010-02-02T00:46:21.002-05:00As a victim of domestic violence or partner abuse,...As a victim of domestic violence or partner abuse, I found law enforcement just to not be responsive! Indeed, even though my partner has a very long history of criminal charges, they seem to be more intent on investigating me and whether or not "I wanted it or fantasized about it" and therefore got what I wanted. This leaving him free despite a warrant (for stealing my ATM card and money out of my account without my permission) because they claim they do not have the resources to find him. I am, however, (according to them) free to give them a current address for him if I can find him and they will pick him up. I am thoroughly disgusted!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-531918477342434454.post-49723337636939263842009-11-19T16:26:40.877-05:002009-11-19T16:26:40.877-05:00Great blog, Dean! Thank you for the great due dilligence you've done on this subject! I am looking forward to Part II on what DV prevention programs are being developed by the Museum! :)Julie Clarkenoreply@blogger.com
